Hallo Wieder freunde!!! Here’s the sixth installment of the Mix: The Tape series. This volume is based around the concept of Summer. Since August is the last FULL month of Summer, I figured that I’d dedicated the mix to the season. With Tommy Sparks’s “Much To Much” we keep the party in motion that was set by LCD Soundsystem’s “Get Innocuous.” After taking things up a level with “Hotride” by The Prodigy, things are thrown into a trippy mix with “1% (The Long Way Down” by God Lives Underwater. The prominent guitar sounds leads to Box Car Racer and Incubus tracks. The less hyped up side of Summer kicks in with “Hysteric” by Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Gang Gang Dance’s “Vacuum” is a good representation of those spaced out moments doing whatever you kids do when you enter that zone, nowadays. Don’t worry, I won’t tell your parents. “Booksmart Devils” by Silversun Pickups is a good song for those that are splitting up from your friends. Some of you going the hard road, others taking the schooling road. Then, we close it all off with Bombs Into You’s “Slink”. Make sure to grab this up, and apply whatever summer memories you’ve just added into your mental database to be slap-labeled with one of these songs. Enjoy, folks!
